Journey of HR and HD80 trucks

Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade, an honorable doctor who worked at the northeast of Brazil, out of his entrepreneurial enthusiasm, established a company in 1979. Today, it has its network across Brazil and is known as the biggest automobile distribution in Latin America. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade is the present chairperson and board of Directors of the company.

Some forty years ago, as a result of the closure of a particular deal, CAOA was formed by Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade. Just after six years of its establishment, Dr. Carlos bore the fruit of his hard work and amazing skills, when CAOA became the biggest Ford dealership in Brazil.

Back then, imported vehicles were forbidden. In 1992, CAOA started dealing in imported vehicles. The company also achieved more high status as it became fifth in the automotive market, number one in imported cars sales and also got the opportunity of being the official exclusive importer of French franchise Renault.

Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade imported Subaru in 1998, which is a Japanese brand and was foregrounded by another company. After CAOA dealt with it, the sale of Subaru was raised to three times per annum. Likewise, South Korean Brand, Hyundai, was represented by two other retailers in Brazil, but it went down. CAOA overtook it in 1999. Under the dynamic marketing strategies of Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade, the Hyundai Tucson Model reached the top list of imported cars in the Brazilian market.

CAOA founded the CAOA Assembly Automobile in 20017, which was Hyundai’s first factory in Brazil. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade invested a vast sum of $600 million in this project and a highly recognized magazine IstoÉ Dinheiro gave him the title of “Entrepreneur of the Year in Industry”. Along with many other awards, in particular, Dr. Carlos received “Distributor of the Year” in 2012 by Hyundai’s parent firm. 179 worldwide distributors competed for it but Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade stood above all.

Presently, CAOA owns Ford, Hyundai, Subaru, Tucson, iX35 along with HR and HD80 trucks. In the span of 40 years, Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade has sold more than 1 million vehicles across Brazil.
