He was born in Sidon, Lebanon. His parents were refugees from Palestine, having fled to Lebanon during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. At eight years old, Kheireddine dropped out of school to become a tailor’s apprentice due to family financial pressures. He soon found that tailoring was not for him. Kheireddine wanted to be an artist, but his family did not support this aspiration. This led him to leave home at the age of fifteen years old. He soon found odd jobs that allowed him to survive on his own. Kheireddine began carving and selling wooden picture frames from a cart that he pushed through the streets of Beirut.

He began finding work in the import-export sector to help support his family. He started trading and became a stockbroker in Lebanon before he turned 16 years old. While at Lebanese American University, where Kheireddine studied economics, he started his first business venture with an old friend, importing building materials from Hong Kong. The two also founded a food products company and imported machinery parts before Kheireddine graduated with economics. He became an entrepreneur at the age of 18 years old.

After graduating college, Kheireddine began working as a stockbroker for Citibank and various brokerage houses. With some money saved and high performance in his job, he started investing in the real estate market. He began trading shares of stock on margin and made $20 million from these investments before moving to New York City, where he established an import-export firm with offices in Paris, Cairo, and Geneva.

He partnered up with several other people to establish his investment bank, Marwan Kheireddine & Associates. This business represented both multinational corporations and the governments of developing countries on three continents. They also worked with several philanthropic organizations on behalf of Middle East causes. Kheireddine became an international negotiator and was involved in oil deals with Al-Mukhabarat Al-A’amah.
